Congratulations Rosie Deegan

Congratulations to former Sorrento Duncraig Junior Football Club player Rosie Deegan who was one of the first players selected to the West Coast Eagles inaugural AFLW side.

Rosie played 5 seasons with the Sorrento Duncraig Hawks, under the expert guidance of SDJFC Life Member Cory Lake.  In 2015, Rosie was selected to represent the Western Australian 16 and under team at the School Sports Australia National Carnival, played in Geelong.  This was the first time that Rosie had played as a member of a girls’ team, having played her entire career in an all boys competition.  Rosie helped the team finish 2nd in this carnival behind a very powerful Victorian side. At the conclusion of the carnival, Rosie was rewarded by being selected in the All Australian team.

Since this time, Rosie has continued to excel in her football journey.   As a club we are very proud of her and congratulate Rosie on being selected to represent the West Coast Eagles in their AFLW side.
